Some of you maybe like us and wonder, What is a Liebster Award? And how do you conduct one? Don’t worry, we were the same, after much researched on numerous pages we found Working Well was the page we found most helpful to award other deserving blogger on this amazing opportunity! 🙂 So, lets begin the questions!
- What gadget do you take on every adventure?
Our phones, Technology has been good to us in that respect. With our phones we have access to contacting family and entertainment with music, games and movies throughout our long Journeys.
2. Do you rather traveling solo or with people?
Danny and I have both set off to the world as solo travellers. We believe everyone should solo travel at least once to gain their own perspective on life and travel, however we are happy to have found each other and share the experiences we have together.
3. Do you prefer budget traveling (such as camping) or luxury? (golden trimmed bathtubs?)
Ok, we are all human and do like to treat ourselves every now and again to a fancy 5* hotel where we pretend we have loads of money and a big established business but yeah, only every now and again. Danny and I do like to treat ourselves but we prefer to live right where the culture is, little huts in Thailand, cooking dinner on a BBQ out of a van parked up on the outskirts of Australia or a windowless dungeon in Tenerife, We will admit that was not great but we did it!, is the type of travelling we personally like. Budget or no budget, its how we live and its how we like it.
4. What is your top travel tip? >> Check out Mikayla’s Top Tips too!
Keep an open mind and experience what is around you. The lifestyle of travel is to see new things and experience different cultures, the world is a book that is waiting to be opened, if you reject it because it is different to your norm then what is the point? Before I moved abroad I did not like olives or fish, thanks to Danny and our dinners in Mallorca I am now the first to order a olives while we await our seafood Paella.
5. How do you pass the time on long flights?
Shauna: Games, annoying Danny, gazing outside the window in amazement and sleeping.
Danny: Games, Movies, Gazing outside the window in amazing, thinking of our upcoming adventure and watching in jealously for Shauna’s ability to curl into the smallest ball I have ever seen, asleep
6. What’s the most adventurous thing you have done, that’s taken you out of your comfort zone?
Shauna: Cliff diving, I am not comfortable when it comes to water, swimming and snorkelling in the sea is a huge step for me (I blame my mother). Even though I am getting better to find my comfort zone when I jumped from a 15 foot cliff into the Mediterranean sea at El Toro, Mallorca. I can still remember hearing Danny’s brother, James, shout “She did it!!” Before I hit the water!
Danny: I find it difficult to mention something I have done that was outside my comfort zone. I am not like Shauna, I LOVE WATER! Taking my adventures under water to a whole new world is not outside my comfort zone. However, as I have not jumped out of a plane yet, I would have to say my most adventurous thing to date would have to be scuba diving. Obtained in Thailand before I met Shauna, scuba diving has been the most adventurous and rewarding experiencing I have experienced yet in my life!
7. What has been your favourite travel destination?
So far Danny and I agree we love our little Island, Mallorca. Although other destination calls us and we miss our homes, Mallorca is where we met, had our first date, first fight and first travel as a couple. Despite our amazing travels in Tenerife, Ireland, England and upcoming trips to Thailand, Bali and Australia, Mallorca will always hold a special place of both semimetal value and encouragement for further travel in our hearts.
8. What has been your least favourite travel destination?
This may create hatred that we have felt before but yes, Tenerife! Danny and I lived in Tenerife for 6 months. The Island itself was beautiful and obtains multiple amazing quantities, however living in a windowless dungeon for a greedy landlord was not the reason we have chosen Tenerife as our less favourite travel destination. The reason we have chosen Tenerife is due to the rising crime rate in Las Americas, as I worked nights and Danny worked days, we finally met when I was released from work at 4am. Delighted Danny and I took the opportunity to treat ourselves to a drink, later that night Danny’s wallet was robbed by a well conducted pick pocket. Although we understand this can happen anywhere, it happened to us here and ruined our experience in Tenerife throughout our stay. Feeling violated and disheartened by the ordeal, nasty comments from “Tenerife lovers” when we voiced the incident did not help our opinion.
9. What destination is on the top of your bucket list?
Danny and I have a huge bucket list we would like to tick off through out our travels but we would have to say the Sea of Stars on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives is definitely on top of our list at the moment! A glowing beach? Aahhh!!! YES!!
10. Who do you dream of bumping into on your travels?
As many people dream of meeting celebrities or their idol bloggers, Danny and I feel a little bit different. Bumping into our good friends abroad is a dream come true for Danny and I. We already feel the travel bug through celebrities and our idol bloggers but our friends and family back at home remain the strongest in our minds. As we visit various locations we can not help but express our thoughts that our friends and family have not seen these locations and we know that they would love the sights and experiences that we have seen and embarked.
We have loved every laugh and moment we have gained reminiscing on our travels through answering the questions Mikayla has prepared for us! We have nominated the following blogs to do the same! Congratulations on your Liebster awards;
